Installing a Serial USB adapter on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or later

1. Connect the Serial USB adapter to an available USB port on your Mac
2. Insert the included driver CD into the CD ROM drive
3. Open the CD from the desktop
1. Go to the "driver/MAC/” folder
2. Double click "OS X 10.4 (Tiger ) or later.dmg”
3. Double click the "FTDIUSBSerialDriver” installation package

4. The driver installation will begin
5. Click "Continue”

6. Click "Continue”

7. Click "Install”

8. Click "Continue Installation”

9. The installation will be completed

10. The installation is now complete. Click "Restart” to restart your Mac. After restarting, the Serial USB adapter installation is complete

Setting up SignCut X2


Begin by installing SignCut X2 on your Mac 

1. When SignCut X2 is opened for the first time, it must be configured with the correct cutting plotter
   1. In the "Choose Manufacturer:” field, select the manufacturer of your cutting plotter, for example "Redsail”
   2. In the "Choose Cutter:” field, select your cutting plotter model, for example "Redsail RS720C”
   3. In the "Choose Device:” field, select your Serial USB adapter, for example "cu.usbserial xxxxxx”
   4. Click "Next >”
   
2. Select "Settings => Cutter” from the menu bar

3. Apply the following settings in this window:
1. In the "Handshake:” field, select "Software (XON/XOFF)”
2. In the "Blade Offset:” field, select "0.25”
3. Under "Size abbreviation calibration:”, select "DTR”
4. Click "OK”
