A Teflon protection sheet creates a protective layer between the heat press heating plate and your transfer design. Its non-stick surface helps prevent exposed film and adhesive from sticking to the plate, making it a practical accessory for professional textile production, smaller workshops and home projects.
Measuring 74 x 42 cm, this sheet can be used at its full size or trimmed to suit your pressing area. It is designed for repeated use, provided it remains clean and in good condition.
When applying heat transfer vinyl and other textile transfer materials, exposed parts of a design can otherwise come into direct contact with the heating plate. A suitable cover sheet separates these surfaces and helps keep adhesive residue away from your equipment.
The sheet supports a cleaner pressing process, but it does not replace the correct temperature, pressing time and pressure. Always follow the instructions for your garment and transfer material, and check that the protective sheet is suitable for the required settings.
Use the sheet when pressing suitable transfers onto items such as T-shirts, hoodies, workwear and textile bags. For designs involving several colours, it can cover previously applied areas while another compatible layer is pressed.
Only combine materials that are approved for layering, and follow their pressing instructions. The cover sheet prevents direct contact with the heating plate, but it does not stop earlier layers from being reheated.
For sublimation projects, follow the instructions supplied for your ink, transfer paper and blank before choosing a protective covering. Where disposable protective paper is specified, use that paper rather than treating a reusable Teflon sheet as a direct substitute.
Check the dimensions of your heating plate and design before use to make sure the 74 x 42 cm sheet provides sufficient coverage. It can be trimmed for a smaller press or a particular application, while keeping the area being protected fully covered.
Where permitted by the heat press manufacturer, the sheet can also be secured over the heating plate with suitable heat-resistant tape. Keep it flat and free from folds, and follow the press manufacturer's instructions when fitting accessories.
Allow the sheet to cool before cleaning it with a soft cloth and mild soap. Remove any residue and let it dry before the next job so that contamination is not transferred onto another garment or design.
Check its condition regularly and replace it if it becomes damaged or can no longer lie flat. Keeping the surface clean and smooth helps maintain a consistent working setup between pressing jobs.
