Because textiles vary in composition, dye, surface treatment and heat resistance, we recommend carrying out a test application before beginning a larger production run. Polyester and other heat-sensitive fabrics should always be tested carefully to ensure that the temperature does not cause scorching, discolouration or dye migration.

Easy Cutting and Weeding

Soft Metallic Red 5200 can be processed with standard vinyl cutters for heat transfer vinyl. The design should be cut in mirror image so that it appears correctly once transferred to the garment.

Correct blade depth, cutting pressure and speed will depend on your cutter and the condition of the blade. The objective is to cut cleanly through the metallic polyurethane film without cutting through the polyester carrier underneath.

A small test cut is recommended before production. Once cut, remove the unwanted vinyl using a weeding tool or precision tweezers. The adhesive carrier helps keep individual letters and design elements securely positioned while the excess material is removed.

Heat Press Application

After cutting and weeding, position the design on the garment with the carrier facing upwards. Ensure the transfer is correctly aligned and that the garment is lying flat before applying heat.
