Create bold, dimensional and professional garment decoration with STAHLS' Puff Purple Heat Transfer Vinyl – Purple 280. This premium purple puff HTV expands during heat pressing to produce a soft, raised and rounded 3D surface that gives logos, lettering, numbers and graphic designs extra depth and visual impact.
Designed for decorators who want more than a conventional flat heat transfer vinyl finish, STAHLS' Puff Purple 280 is particularly effective on hoodies, sweatshirts, streetwear, merchandise and promotional clothing. Its vibrant purple colour combined with the distinctive puff effect makes it an excellent choice for creative apparel, fashion collections, sportswear and customised garments.
STAHLS' Purple 280 puff vinyl is ideal for garment designs that need a distinctive and premium appearance. The rich purple shade creates strong contrast on white, grey, yellow, pink, turquoise and other light or brightly coloured fabrics. On darker or purple garments, it can also be used to create sophisticated tone-on-tone designs where the raised texture becomes the main visual feature.
Use Purple 280 for company logos, club names, personalised names, initials, shirt numbers, slogans, monograms, icons and large graphic elements. Its three-dimensional finish makes even relatively simple designs appear more exclusive and visually engaging.
Unlike standard flex vinyl, STAHLS' Puff heat transfer vinyl reacts to heat by expanding. During pressing, the material develops a rounded, raised surface that can both be seen and felt. This makes it especially attractive for streetwear, fashion garments and branded merchandise where texture and dimensional decoration are an important part of the finished design.
For the best results, use bold artwork with sufficiently wide lines and larger design elements. A minimum line width of approximately 8 mm is recommended to allow the material to expand evenly. Very fine lettering, extremely thin lines and intricate details should be avoided or thoroughly test-cut before production.
STAHLS' Puff Purple 280 works particularly well on heavier garments such as hoodies and sweatshirts. These fabrics provide a stable base for the expanding vinyl and complement the substantial 3D appearance of the finished print.
The material is also suitable for promotional clothing, teamwear and selected sports textiles. Always test polyester and technical fabrics before production, as fabric construction, coatings and heat sensitivity can influence adhesion and the final puff effect.
STAHLS' Puff Purple 280 can be cut using a standard vinyl cutter or cutting plotter. The artwork must be mirror cut before application. Because the material is approximately 520 microns thick, blade depth, cutting pressure and speed may need to be adjusted compared with conventional HTV.
Always perform a test cut before starting production. The blade should cut cleanly through the puff material without damaging the adhesive carrier. After cutting, remove the excess vinyl using a suitable weeding tool or tweezers.
The adhesive carrier helps keep individual letters and graphic elements correctly positioned, making alignment easier before the design is transferred onto the garment.
Position the weeded design on the garment with the carrier facing upwards and apply using a professional heat press with even temperature and pressure. Seams, pockets, zips and buttons can prevent consistent pressure, so a heat press pillow may be useful when decorating uneven garments.
Remove the carrier while hot using a smooth, controlled motion. Avoid unnecessary repressing, as repeated heat and pressure can reduce the height of the raised puff surface.
STAHLS' Puff Purple 280 can be used on 100% cotton, suitable polyester, polyester mesh and cotton/polyester blends. Because fabrics react differently to heat and pressure, always carry out a test application before decorating a full production run. Particular care should be taken with sublimated or strongly coloured polyester because dye migration may occur.
STAHLS' Puff Purple 280 is an excellent choice for professional garment decorators, sign makers, clothing brands, sports clubs and creative businesses looking for an alternative to conventional flat HTV. Its expanding construction produces a striking raised surface, while the rich purple colour gives designs a modern and distinctive appearance.
Whether you are producing streetwear, personalised hoodies, branded merchandise, club clothing or promotional garments, Purple 280 adds depth, texture and character that helps your finished products stand out.
