Because fabrics may contain coatings, waterproof treatments or heat-sensitive fibres, a test application should always be completed before beginning a larger production run. This is particularly important when working with treated nylon, coated bags, jackets or performance garments.
One of the major advantages of Premium Plus heat transfer vinyl is its suitability for 100% nylon. This makes Columbia Blue 330 a practical choice for sports bags, lightweight jackets, teamwear and other nylon products that cannot always be decorated with standard flex vinyl.
When applying the vinyl to nylon, allow both the transfer and garment to cool completely before removing the carrier. The liner must be removed using a cold-peel process. Always test coated or water-resistant nylon to confirm satisfactory adhesion.
The pressure-sensitive carrier helps keep small letters, fine lines and separate design elements securely in place during weeding and application. This makes Premium Plus suitable for both simple graphics and more detailed designs.
Cut the design in reverse using a compatible vinyl cutter or cutting plotter. Weed away the excess material, position the design on the garment with the clear carrier facing upwards and apply it using a professional heat press.

Medium pressure corresponds to approximately level 4–6 on a Hotronix® heat press. On cotton, polyester and other standard recommended fabrics, remove the sticky carrier while hot. When applying the vinyl to 100% nylon, allow it to cool completely and remove the carrier cold.
For multi-layer designs, use short tack presses for the first layers and apply the complete time only on the final layer. A non-stick cover sheet can be used to protect exposed vinyl and the upper heat platen.
