Once cut, remove the unwanted heat transfer vinyl around the artwork using a weeding tool or suitable tweezers. The pressure-sensitive carrier makes it easier to keep individual design components correctly positioned throughout the process.
After cutting the design in mirror image and removing the excess material, position the artwork on the garment with the carrier facing upwards. Make sure the design is correctly aligned before applying heat.
For reliable results, ensure the heat press provides even heat and pressure across the complete design. Seams, buttons, zips and other raised areas can prevent proper contact between the heat platen, vinyl and garment. A suitable heat press pillow can be used when required.
Always test the material on the actual garment before beginning a larger production run, particularly when decorating heat-sensitive or strongly dyed polyester fabrics.
