STAHLS' CAD-CUT Glow Heat Transfer Vinyl – 937: Glow in the Dark HTV for Creative Textile Printing

Create eye-catching garments and textile designs with STAHLS' CAD-CUT Glow Heat Transfer Vinyl – 937. This specialist glow in the dark heat transfer vinyl appears white with a matt finish in normal daylight and produces a distinctive luminous glow after being exposed to light. It is ideal for logos, lettering, graphics and decorative details that need an additional visual effect when the surroundings become dark.

Manufactured from thin polyurethane, STAHLS' CAD-CUT Glow 937 combines an impressive glow effect with a soft, flexible feel. At approximately 100 microns thick, the vinyl creates lightweight transfers that remain comfortable on garments while delivering a professional finish. It is an excellent choice for garment decorators, print shops, clothing brands, clubs, event organisers and creative makers looking for something different from standard heat transfer vinyl.

Key Benefits of STAHLS' CAD-CUT Glow 937

  • Glow in the dark effect: Absorbs light and releases a visible glow in dark surroundings.
  • White appearance in daylight: Provides a clean, versatile look before the glow effect becomes visible.
  • Matt finish: Creates a modern and professional appearance on garments.
  • Soft polyurethane construction: Comfortable and flexible when applied to suitable textiles.
  • Only 100 microns thick: Produces a lightweight transfer without an excessively heavy feel.
  • Pressure-sensitive carrier: Helps keep lettering and individual design elements correctly positioned.
  • Easy cutting and weeding: Suitable for conventional vinyl cutting plotters.
  • Fast application: Press at 150°C for just 10 seconds.
  • Warm peel: Remove the carrier while warm after heat pressing.
  • Washable up to 40°C: Suitable for garments and textiles intended for regular use.

Glow in the Dark Heat Transfer Vinyl

The special feature of STAHLS' Glow HTV 937 is its ability to absorb energy from sunlight or another strong light source before releasing that energy as a visible glow when placed in darkness. This makes it possible to create textile designs with two different appearances: a clean white design during the day and an exciting luminous effect at night.

The glow can be recharged repeatedly simply by exposing the vinyl to light again. The strongest glow is normally visible immediately after charging and gradually decreases over time. For the most noticeable result, expose the finished design to a strong light source before viewing it in a dark environment.

The effect is decorative and should not be considered a replacement for certified reflective or high-visibility safety materials.

Ideal for Creative Clothing, Events and Merchandise

Glow in the dark HTV opens up countless opportunities for creative garment decoration. Use CAD-CUT Glow 937 as the main feature of a design or as a hidden detail that becomes visible when the lights go out.

Popular applications include:

  • Glow in the dark T-shirts
  • Hoodies and sweatshirts
  • Halloween costumes and clothing
  • Festival and event merchandise
  • Band and artist merchandise
  • Children's clothing and accessories
  • Logos and promotional garments
  • Names, numbers and slogans
  • Stars, moons, planets and space designs
  • Ghosts, skeletons and Halloween graphics
  • Textile bags and gym bags
  • Personalised gifts and craft projects

The material is particularly effective for bold lettering, logos, symbols and graphics with clearly defined shapes. A minimum line thickness of approximately 3 mm is recommended for reliable cutting and weeding. Very small lettering or extremely fine details should always be test-cut before production.

Easy Cutting and Weeding

CAD-CUT Glow Heat Transfer Vinyl can be cut using standard vinyl cutting plotters. Designs should be mirrored before cutting so that they appear correctly after heat application.

Adjust blade depth, cutting pressure and speed according to your plotter and blade condition. The blade should cut cleanly through the polyurethane layer without cutting through the carrier. A small test cut is recommended whenever you change material or machine settings.

After cutting, weed away the unwanted material while leaving the finished design attached to the adhesive carrier. The pressure-sensitive carrier helps keep letters, numbers and separate graphic elements aligned during weeding and positioning.

Heat Press Application Settings

Place the weeded design onto the garment with the carrier facing upwards. Ensure the transfer is positioned correctly and that seams, buttons, zips or other raised areas do not prevent even pressure.

  • Application temperature: 150°C
  • Pressing time: 10 seconds
  • Pressure: Medium, approximately 4–6 on a Hotronix® heat press
  • Peel: Warm Peel

Use a professional heat press capable of supplying consistent temperature and pressure across the complete transfer area. A heat press pillow may be useful when decorating garments with seams, pockets or other raised sections.

If any part of the transfer has not adhered correctly, replace the carrier and apply additional heat briefly. Always test the complete application process on the actual garment before beginning a larger production run.

Suitable Fabrics

STAHLS' CAD-CUT Glow 937 is suitable for a range of commonly used garment materials, including:

  • 100% cotton
  • 100% polyester following application testing
  • Cotton/polyester blends

Always check the garment manufacturer's heat recommendations before pressing. Polyester and sublimated garments should be tested particularly carefully because dyes and coatings may react to heat or affect the appearance of white heat transfer vinyl.
