With a material thickness of 165 microns, CAD-CUT Disco is relatively thin compared with many heavy glitter heat transfer materials. This gives the finished design a smoother appearance while retaining the distinctive metallic and iridescent effect.
The smooth surface also makes Golden Yellow 2004 suitable for bold lettering, numbers, logos and clearly defined graphics. A minimum line thickness of approximately 1.5 mm is recommended. Very small lettering or exceptionally fine details should always be test-cut before beginning full production.
Golden Yellow 2004 can be cut using a standard cutting plotter. Designs should be mirrored before cutting so they appear correctly after heat application.
The adhesive carrier helps individual parts of the design remain in position during weeding, handling and placement. This is especially useful for designs containing separate letters, numbers or graphic elements.
Always perform a small test cut before production and adjust blade pressure, cutting speed and blade depth to suit your machine. The blade should cut cleanly through the Disco film without cutting through the carrier.
For professional and consistent application, use a suitable heat press and ensure that the garment lies flat on the lower platen.
Place the weeded design onto the garment with the carrier facing upwards. Press using even temperature and pressure across the complete design, then carefully remove the carrier while warm. Seams, buttons, zips and other raised areas should be kept away from the pressing surface whenever possible, as they may interfere with even pressure.

Because different textiles can react differently to heat and pressure, always perform an application test before larger production runs. Testing is particularly important with technical, heavily dyed or sublimated polyester garments.
CAD-CUT Disco Golden Yellow 2004 is not recommended for multi-layer applications. Other heat transfer films should not normally be pressed directly over the glossy Disco surface.
For multi-colour artwork, create separate sections positioned alongside one another rather than overlapping the films. When combining different types of HTV within one design, follow the recommended application settings for each individual material.
To help preserve the glossy, iridescent finish and adhesion of the vinyl, follow the garment manufacturer's instructions together with the recommended care guidelines.
